Discover German!
Goethe Institut
The government is particularly eager to encourage the study of German, as the number of people learning this significant language has declined in recent years. For this reason, the Goethe-Institut plays a crucial role.
Their GIMAGINE project aims to promote and support German as a foreign language in the UK, focusing on students, teachers, and schools. In addition to offering professional development opportunities for German teachers, the project provides funding for German language learning through scholarships and supplies schools with classroom materials and teaching resources.

German in Primary Schools
The Solent Language Hub is excited to announce our new initiative to reenergise German language learning in Portsmouth primary schools! We are offering engaging German taster sessions designed to spark curiosity and enthusiasm among young learners. These interactive sessions, delivered by secondary teachers of German from the city, provide students with a fun and accessible introduction to the language and culture, helping to lay the foundation for a lifelong love of languages. By bringing these experiences directly into classrooms, we aim to inspire both pupils and educators to embrace the opportunities that language learning brings. Stay tuned for updates as we continue to champion multilingualism in our community!
